Official: Russia not to discuss sanctions easing with EU

MOSCOW, Jun 29 (PRIME) -- Moscow will not start negotiations with the E.U. on a gradual withdrawal of the sanctions, Ambassador to the E.U. Vladimir Chizhov told PRIME in an interview published on Wednesday.

“You know, it does not make much difference for us whether they remove the sanctions at once or gradually and when they will do this. If those who prefer a gradual revision of sanctions expect that we will get involved and will negotiate or arrange the process, this is a mistake,” Chizhov said.

Germany’s Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier offered to consider a gradual revision of anti-Russian sanctions in case of advances in the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements.
